Edward Mott, Chief Executive, co-founded Oxford Capital in 1999 with the intent of extending private equity growth capital to wealthy families as well as to institutional investors. He chairs the Investment Committee at Oxford Capital. With over 30 years of experience as a practical manager, investor and business leader, Ted has worked with both mature listed businesses and younger high growth companies across a multitude of sectors. Following an early career in the US with Corning Glass Inc where he was involved with the first commercialisation of fibre optics, he then pursued a career in investment banking with American, European and Asian banks in corporate finance, emerging markets and structured finance, before heading HSBC Group’s capital markets division based in Hong Kong. He later served the wealth manager GAM in London before founding Oxford Capital. Ted is a graduate of the University of Cambridge and an INSEAD MBA and is fluent in French and German. Ted is also a keen sailor and gardener.

Robin Hill, Director, is a chartered accountant and an experienced executive, director and consultant, specialising in advising companies in change situations. He has led an international career in the USA, UK, Europe and Australia where he held a number of senior management roles. He was President of Spembly Inc in California, a medical devices company, and has since been Special Adviser to a large digital media company, a Director of the Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, CFO of a major global professional services firm and Adviser to World Bank projects in the Middle East.

David Mott, Investment Director, co-founded Oxford Capital in 1999 and is responsible for leading investments and portfolio management and is a member of the Investment Committee. He is focused on investments in software, security, materials and environmental technologies. He previously worked with Result Ventures where he specialised in supporting technology companies on international expansion. Prior to this he worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers in corporate finance. His early career was as an equity analyst with Jardine Fleming in Asia and later with Deloitte and Touche in London where he trained as an accountant. David has a BA in Economics and Japanese from the University of Durham and speaks French, German and Japanese. David is a passionate collector of contemporary art and regularly competes in triathlons.

Nicholas Selbie, Non-Executive Director, was a Managing Partner of Actis, one of the largest emerging markets private equity fund managers, until his retirement in 2005. He is currently Chairman of the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust, Chairman of the Trustees of the CDC Pension Fund, Chairman of SPW, the international youth charity, a Trustee and Treasurer of Practical Action and a member of VSO’s UK Committee. He stepped down at the end of 2008 as Chairman of Aureos, the leading small cap emerging markets private equity fund manager, as an adviser to the $100m Actis Africa Agribusiness Fund and as Treasurer of the Royal Africa Society. Prior to Actis he worked for CDC, the emerging markets investor, and in corporate finance in London and New York for BZW and Kleinwort Benson. He was educated at Oxford University and London Business School. He lives in Switzerland and London.

Chris Mallows, Investment Adviser, brings to the team international experience, an understanding of financial transactions and practices, and the implementation of new technologies in the commercial arena. He has had an international career in investment banking and the securities industry. Following a career with Cazenove, Rowe & Pitman and Warburg Securities he was appointed Chief Executive of Standard Chartered Securities. Chris is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

Richard Marsh, Investment Manager - Head of Information and Communications Technology, is responsible for investments in the information and communication technology sectors. Richard is a Director on the Boards of Ad.IQ, Arieso, Celoxica, Concurrent Thinking, Rostima and Teepix. He is an experienced entrepreneur and business manager, with 10 years of operational experience and a track record of revenue growth. He was previously founder and CEO of Datanomic, a successful venture baked software company in the field of data quality management. Richard holds an MA and a PhD in Engineering from the University of Cambridge and an MBA from IMD in Switzerland, where he was a Sainsbury Management Fellow. Richard has a University of Cambridge Rowing Blue.

Rebecca Todd, Investment Manager - Head of Healthcare, is responsible for investments in life sciences and healthcare. Rebecca is a Director on the Boards of Sirigen, Veryan and Microbial Solutions and an Observer to the Boards of Oxford Biotherapeutics and Exosect. Prior to becoming a venture capital investor, Rebecca was a marketing consultant with a wide portfolio of clients, initially major pharmaceutical companies and latterly early-stage biotechnology companies. Rebecca has an MBA from the Saïd Business School, Oxford University, where she specialised in technology innovation and entrepreneurship, a PhD in Genetics from Nottingham University and graduated with first class honours in Biology from the University of York. Rebecca is also a member of the Investment Panel for the Mobius Life Sciences Fund. When the British climate allows, Rebecca is a keen rock climber.

Lucy Dighton, Operations Manager, coordinates the resources of the firm through managing the operations, administration, finance, technology and compliance functions. Lucy trained as a healthcare analyst with Oxford Capital and previously gained experience in technology management with Synaptics UK, a spin-off from Scientific Generics in Cambridge. Lucy graduated from the University of Oxford with a BA in Physiological Sciences and is an associate member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. In her spare time Lucy enjoys working on her allotment and scuba diving.

Alastair Stewart, Investment Associate, is responsible for sourcing, reviewing and monitoring investments in the information & communications and related cleantech sectors. He holds a MEng in Engineering Science from Magdalen College, Oxford. At university Alastair spent time investigating cost-effective ways to visualise blood flow in brain aneurysms. He was also a successful coxswain and made an appearance on University Challenge. Prior to joining Oxford Capital Alastair worked in the technology division of mobile operator O2. Alastair is an associate member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. In his spare time he enjoys photography and playing the piano.

Lucy Foster, Head of Investor Services and Communications, is responsible for Investor Services and is also responsible for marketing and communications. Previously Lucy worked at Ennismore Fund Management, a hedge fund investing in European smaller companies. Lucy began her career working in private client services at Union Bancaire Privee and Morgan Stanley. Lucy graduated from Durham University with a BA in French. In her spare time Lucy enjoys playing tennis and golf and is a keen skier.

Richard Hoskins, Manager Private Client Services, is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with financial intermediaries. Following his earlier Army career as an officer in The Royal Green Jackets, Richard worked with Noble Fund Managers. He is FSA registered and is studying for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification. Richard graduated from Bristol University with a BSc in Zoology, where he also studied accountancy and economics. In his spare time, Richard enjoys sky-diving.

Dr. Åsa Blidegård, Swiss Office, is responsible for building and maintaining Oxford Capital's relationships with international intermediaries and institutions. A specialist in biotechnology and healthcare, Åsa previously gained experience in marketing technology management and healthcare as Director of Medtronic and Serono International, and went on to be Director of Arlington Group Limited UK Consultancy, creating Arlington Diversified Capital. Åsa graduated from the University of Lund and later gained an MBA from Cranfield University, enabling her to combine scientific expertise with exceptional business insight.

Claire Ritchie, Executive & Communications Assistant, provides PA support to the Directors, as well as assisting the Investor Services and Marketing teams. She graduated in Spanish and Marketing from the University of Stirling and also studied Marketing and Business at the University of Cantabria in Northern Spain. Claire’s interests outside of the office include archaeology, translation and music.

Rosie Fickling, Team Assistant, joined Oxford Capital in November 2008. She is responsible for helping Claire Ritchie support the team and manage the Cumnor Hill office. After completing her first year at Edinburgh University with honours she chose to move from formal education and explore on–the-job learning. Rosie has studied all forms of dance and enjoys cooking and doing Yoga in her free time.

David Brister, Operating Partner, assists with new investments and contributes to the development of portfolio companies with a focus on healthcare and life sciences. David has over 20 years experience in both private equity and in operational roles and was instrumental in the successful development of venture capital businesses at 3i and MVM. During that time he was responsible for many successful investments and exits including Cambridge Antibody Technology, Acambis and Oxford GlycoSciences and was chairman of Domantis. More recently he was Chief Business Officer and a member of the executive management team that transformed Evotec (listed on NASDAQ and the Frankfurt Stock Exchange) through a series of M&A transactions. David is currently Chairman or Non-Executive Director of several high growth life science and technology companies.
