The award recognised David for his significant impact on the early stage investment market. The judges were looking for evidence of the ability to source deals from a strong network, to assess opportunities, to manage the due diligence process and to close deals in difficult circumstances.
They were also looking for an individual with a reputation for providing valuable support to portfolio companies and who has played a significant role in driving the venture capital industry forward. |

Oxford Capital Partners was also short listed for two other awards – Young Personality of the Year, which recognised David Mott as ‘one to watch’ for the future, and International Deal of the Year for the firm’s investment in Hardide plc. |
