Oxford Capital Partners named Best EIS Fund Manager of the Year

Oxford, UK, 29 January 2007

Oxford Capital Partners has been named best EIS Fund Manager of the Year at the annual reception of the EIS Association. Oxford Capital Partners is the Oxford based venture capital firm focused on emerging European science and technology.

The EIS Association is recognised by the Treasury as the official trade body for the EIS industry. The members of the Association include wealth managers, private banks, venture capital firms, leading business angels, professional legal and tax advisors, and business entrepreneurs bringing together a wide pool of talent and expertise.

The award, which was presented in January at a reception held at the House of Commons, recognised Oxford Capital Partners as the firm which had achieved outstanding performance in the context of the Enterprise Investment Scheme during 2006.

2006 saw a number of successes for Oxford Capital Partners. Having pioneered the EIS fund structure in 1999 the firm continued to raise the profile of the advantages of the EIS legislation and raised £12m into the Oxford Gateway Fund No.3, making it one of the largest of its kind. The fourth fund in the series, the Oxford Gateway Fund No.4, was launched in November and has received an enthusiastic response from sophisticated investors, family offices and trusts.

Also receiving awards at the reception were Pricewaterhouse Coopers as Best Tax Adviser, Martineau Johnson as Best Legal Adviser, Allenbridge as Best Corporate Publisher and to St Helen’s Capital as Best Corporate Adviser.

In collecting the award on behalf of Oxford Capital Partners, Edward Mott, Chief Executive, noted the stability of governmental policies supporting innovation, thanked the Association for its work on behalf of all entrepreneurs and investors and paid tribute to the growing number of leading scientists who are engaging so effectively with the opportunities and challenges in international markets.

Oxford Capital Partners was named Venture Capital House of the Year in December 2005 and in the past twelve months has been recognised at a range of industry events including the BVCA/Real Deals Private Equity Awards and the Investor Allstars Awards.
