Veryan Medical completes latest £2.5m funding round
Existing investors including the company’s management team have invested a further £2.5m in Veryan Medical, one of Oxford Capital’s portfolio companies. The company is developing a range of vascular stents and grafts with a design that creates swirling flow, helping to protect the body from vascular disease. The helical design should be more flexible and durable than existing straight stents reducing the risk of stent fractures.
The new funding will support a study later this year which will evaluate the clinical performance of the Veryan 3D technology and, if successful, will represent a significant milestone in Veryan’s progress.
Chas Taylor, Chief Executive of Veryan, commented, “The technology development pathway has been impressive to date and we are confident that Veryan technology has the potential to significantly influence the design of future stent platforms. The commencement of human clinical studies is a critical milestone for Veryan."
